Much of the professional work I've done has focused on helping clients apply storytelling principles to marketing and branding messages. This has taken the form of profiling customers and their success stories, illustrating concepts with real-life examples, and helping companies (and their leadership) translate abstract ideas into approachable narratives. I recently served in an editor-in-chief role for IBM's internal corporate storytelling site, 1-3-9, which was created to help IBMers share stories of how they're putting corporate values into action in their daily work and lives. I also helped a creative agency launch a custom content program and editorial presence to tell stories about their client work. I currently serve as Pitney Bowes' lead content strategist, helping them to apply their new brand voice to their digital products.
I write true stories and perform regularly in and around NYC in shows like RISK!, Narratively After Dark, Tell It, and Talk Therapy. My theatrical, long-form solo storytelling show, Generator, premiered at The Tank's 2015 Dark Festival. My storytelling website, Modern Stories, serves as a resource for the NYC storytelling community, featuring the most comprehensive listing of NYC storytelling events. The Modern Stories site also houses my complete writing and performance portfolio. I also host and produce a well-regarded storytelling podcast, Modern Stories Mix, which I record in my home audio studio.
